Buying your own minibus

If your community group is thinking of raising funds to buy its own minibus, we would urge you to think carefully. Minibuses are costly to buy, run and replace, and funding sources are scarce. You also have to get to grips with insurance, maintenance and legal issues.

Perhaps your transport needs could be met more cost effectively by using an existing community minibus? Further information is available on this website.

If you still wish to get your own minibus, advice is available from:

Pembrokeshire Association of Community Transport Organisations, Community Transport Development Officer or Accessible Vehicle Coordinator on: 01437 701123

You may also wish to join the national Community Transport Association, which runs a free advice line for its members. Contact their Welsh Office on: 0345 130 6195
